U.S. Bank Hires Citi Payments Veteran Calvert Lange for Sector Sales

By Digital Trade OutlookOctober 10, 2026
Executive Moves: U.S. BANK, Calvert Lange Joins

U.S. Bank has recruited a payments leader from Citi to run sales for four industries. Calvert Lange is now senior vice president and Payments: Merchant and Institutional (PMI) Sales Group Head for the Technology, Transportation, Consumer and Hospitality sectors in the Institutional Client Group. Her team provides payment and treasury management solutions to technology, media, telecom, automotive, transportation, consumer and hospitality companies.

Lange has more than 18 years in payments and treasury services. At Citi she led the Payments & Liquidity Product Sales group, advising Fortune 500 and multinational companies on payments, liquidity and working capital, and held leadership roles in commercial cards. She also spent three years in Deutsche Bank’s Global Transaction Banking division, advising large multinationals on global cash management.

“Companies are looking for better ways to manage payments while keeping pace with changing customer expectations,” Lange said. “The bank has deep relationships across technology, transportation, consumer and hospitality sectors. We’re focused on building on that foundation to help clients navigate a rapidly changing payments landscape.”

The release describes U.S. Bank as the fifth-largest commercial bank in the United States, serving 15 million clients globally with nearly 70,000 employees. It does not say who Lange reports to.

Digital Trade Outlook’s View: Treasury Talent Keeps Moving

Lange’s career crosses cards, liquidity and cash management at two global banks, the same ground covered by DTO’s earlier Standard Chartered appointment for transaction services and TransBnk’s treasury and liquidity hire. The role is organised by sector, not by product, which suggests U.S. Bank wants to sell treasury and payments tools the way each industry buys them.
