One of Deutsche Bank’s longest-serving trade bankers has moved to a rival. J.P. Morgan has hired Atul Jain as head of global trade and working capital sales, taking over from Natasha Condon.
Jain spent 25 years at Deutsche Bank. His last job was managing director and global head of financial resource management in the corporate bank, based in Singapore from February 2026. Before that he spent almost four years as global co-head of trade finance and lending, and earlier headed trade finance and lending for Asia Pacific.
Condon is not leaving. Her new title is head of global trade and working capital commercialisation, the bank confirmed to GTR, and she remains EMEA regional head of trade. She joined J.P. Morgan in 2020 as managing director and global head of core trade, after 16 years at Citi, where she finished as global head of trade sales.
J.P. Morgan declined to provide further details about the appointments, so the scope of Jain’s role goes no further than his title.
Digital Trade Outlook’s View: A Hire From the Balance Sheet Side
Jain’s last Deutsche role dealt with how the bank allocates its financial resources, which matters as banks weigh how much capital to give trade finance. Deutsche has been building its own trade programmes, including a $150 million facility with British International Investment and a risk-sharing facility with IFC. We read this hire as J.P. Morgan buying that mix of sales and capital experience. Condon’s new title leaves two senior trade figures where there was one, and the bank has not said how they will split the work.
